Using the WinGreek Macros installed by Delta

You can use the following function keys to switch languages:

[Pause key] : "intelligent backspace" will backspace accents as well as characters. Use this key instead of the backspace.

English Mode (F10)

Accented characters can be produced simply by typing the vowel, followed by one of the following keys:

The complete list of accents is as follows:

Greek mode (F11)

The letters in the Greek alphabet can generally be found on the equivalent key:

Accents and breathings can be added to characters by typing the vowel and then the diacritic(s). Breathings can be typed before or after the accent.

To remove an accent from a vowel, position the insertion point after the vowel and press the intelligent backspace (pause) key.

If the accent keys are not in suitable positions for you, then you can change them by modifying the AssignAccKeys macro.

Hebrew mode (F12)

Hebrew right-to-left typing works somewhat differently in the 32 bit version of WinGreek. (see below). The letters in the Hebrew alphabet can generally be found on the equivalent key:

Keyboard Hebrew   Keyboard Hebrew
a a aleph m , m , mem
b b bet n ] n ] nun
g g gimel c c samek
d d dalet i i ayin
h h he p [ p [ peh
v v waw j / j / sade
z z zayin q q qop
x x het r r res
t t tet s s sin
y y yod w w shin
k ; k ; kap t t tau
l l lamed . = . = sop pasuq & maqqeph

To obtain letters with a dagesh, use the shifted (uppercase) version of the key.

Diacritics can be found as follows:

Key   Character   Key   Character
- - patah   f f qames
e e segol   " " sere
I I hireq
\ \ qibbus   V V sureq
f f qames hatup   o or 0 (zero) o 0 holem (two version with different positions)
: : shewa   ^ ^ atnah
| | Silluq   ~ ~ atnah

Right to left operation in Hebrew is unfortunately not automatic, but the function is intelligent. The way it works is that the F12 (Hebrew) Key has to be pressed following each letter. This will have two effects:

This may at first seems a somewhat awkward approach for entering Hebrew, but after a short amount of usage it will be found very convenient since the combination of characters is automatic.

The other important key for Hebrew (and also Greek) is the "Intelligent Backspace" found on the [Pause] button. This will undo the last character, removing diacritics from composite characters.
